Horray for headache oil!

Tuesday, July 01, 2014

I had a nasty headache earlier, but the ever magical headache oil took care of it. A little of it massaged into my temples, and 20 minutes later I felt much better. I don't know what's causing me to get so many headaches, but I'm really glad I found that headache oil so I don't have to keep taking pain pills every day. The headaches have been happening since my oral surgery, although I don't know why oral surgery would cause headaches. In any case, I'll be seeing my doctor around the end of July, and if the headaches aren't better by then, I'm going to mention them and see if she thinks there's cause for concern.

Today has been another good day, although harder than yesterday. I've had more of an appetite today and it has been hard to not be a little piggy this evening. But so far I've managed to stay on track, I'm happy to say.

Breakfast was an egg, veggie sausage, toast and some fresh melon. Then for lunch I made a chicken, brown rice and zucchini/summer squash casserole, and had it with the leftover fresh green beans from yesterday. After dinner I got hungry again and had a cheese stick to help with that. And it did help. I'm trying to train myself that I don't always have to have a high carbohydrate snack when I just need something to take the edge off the hunger. It's a hard lesson to learn, but it will serve me well. Then for dinner I had an Amy's Light & Lean pizza, and cauliflower, carrots, tomatoes and orange bell pepper with hummus. It's about 40 minutes until my normal snack time, and I think I will be okay to wait. I'm gonna have some cherries, some light toast and a little bit of peanut butter. Hopefully that will be enough to take care of the hungries and get me through the night!

Also, I made it to the community center to workout again. Woo hoo! Today I walked 22 minutes and did 6 minutes on the recumbent bike. I sweated out some impurities too. It was SO hot and humid outside, and with no AC in the car, it was like a visit to the sauna. Fortunately the drive between my house and the community center is only 5-10 minutes. Then I came home and took a glorious cool shower and felt amazing.

Otherwise it has been a quiet day. It got even hotter outside after I got home from the community center, and there was no where we truly needed to go, so we stayed in this evening. 90 degrees is just too hot for human life as far as I am concerned.

Tomorrow I'm planning on going back to the community center and getting in another workout. I won't lie and say I enjoy the workouts, but I do thoroughly enjoy the cool shower and then relaxing with a glass of cold water afterward. No other plans for the day that I know of, aside from making food. And making our menu and grocery list.

For now, I'm gonna relax with my magazine while giving silent thanks to the air conditioner gods that I am not left at the mercy of the temperature outside. Hopefully sleep will come early tonight.

Hope everyone had a spiffy Tuesday!

Yes, all of that sweat is great to release the toxins in your body!! Drink a lot of water afterwards and the cool shower feels so great! I agree with you about that heat!! UGH!

I didn't think of having nicked a nerve, glad you have lots of comments. I was going to say, perhaps an infection? I know when I have a bad tooth with the infection deep, it tends to give me frequent headaches, especially when something is trying to break.

Glad you're keeping on track. Sometimes a cheese stick is all it takes.
