June has been a big disappointment for me diet and weight wise... It was a month of a good day offset by many bad days and so on. It was also so full of stress as it came to a close, that I nearly just let myself fall into all my old habits. Luckily, that is already all better.

While my weight has not changed much this month, my fitness has. I started walking a mile per day on June 10th because a friend kind-of challenged me to, very simply, and I rose to meet it. (thank you, sweetie!! I owe this mile per day streak to you!) I walked a mile on my treadmill that evening, and I have been walking a mile on my treadmill every evening since then. I can't say it's helped with my weight (or maybe it has considering how many bad eating days I've had and still didn't gain 10 lbs!) what it has done for me shows up in the simple feat of being able to trudge flights of stairs and not feel like I have to sit down to catch my breath at the top. I always take the stairs anyhow... but I always got winded, too.

Many of you know I work on the second floor of our courthouse and that ascending those stairs with ease has been a goal of mine... well, I'm there. 3 weeks of breathing heavy on the treadmill has left me breathing easy on the stairs. This weekend we moved my son from his second floor apartment back home. I logged 17 flights of stairs on my fitbit that day in less than an hour (to my understanding, fitbit only counts flights going up, not down) and realized about halfway through that I wasn't winded. Wow. That rocks.

So while June was a bust weight wise... it's a win fitness wise. :)
