Today was a pretty nice day. After my interview, I came home and changed into some comfy clothes. I just kind of relaxed with the family. At 1:30, I put dinner in the Crock-Pot. Then we all got ready and went to my niece's music recital. There were kids playing the violin, or the piano, or singing, or doing a combination. My niece sang while she played the piano, and she did a great job! I was so proud of her, and it was so nice to be there for her special day. With all the past family bull$hit, we've all missed many years, but it sure is nice to have these opportunities now. There's another recital in July, but my parents will be here that weekend, so we're not going to that one. It will essentially be the same recital though, by my other SIL, Hateful SIL (the one that has alienated herself from the family) will be there with a couple of her kids who will be performing. My MIL and FIL might be going to that recital, to see Hateful SIL's kids...but they didn't come today. Go figure. It's all a really crappy situation, and I very well may tell that story one day...

But anyway.

We went to the recital with my two SILs and our families to see my niece perform, and we had a great time. It was SO NICE that no one "else" was there. We could just enjoy one another and not feel awkward or uncomfortable, and we didn't see any fake family members that were just putting on a fake face because we were in front of people. I was SO NICE. After the recital, we enjoyed some refreshments together and said our goodbyes.

When we got home, dinner was smelling AMAZING! I'd started chicken and dumplings in the Crock-Pot, but I hadn't put the biscuits in yet. We changed into comfy clothes again and spent the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying each other's company. We had a pretty strong afternoon rainstorm and it was wonderful. We opened the windows and listened to it rain. I put the biscuit dough in the Crock-Pot and let dinner finish cooking. Oh my word it was so yummy! I mean YUM YUM YUM! So easy, so delicious, and PERFECT for a rainy Sunday!

We cleaned up dinner and I decided to go to bed early. Husband and I are in bed watching Hoarders. I don't know what it is about this show, but I have a love-hate relationship with it. So yeah. It's an early night for me. I've got a busy week ahead of me and I need all the rest I can get.
