We lost our kitty....

5 years ago this summer the summer program bus driver found a cat on the side of the road. They pulled over and took it with them to the school. The kids named it Newton as in Sir Isaac Newton because they were learning about him in science that week. We talked about keeping him but found out the bus driver had kept the kitten. A week or so later we went to Petco and this little kitten reached through the cage bars and attached himself to my daughters pant leg. He was so cute and when we looked at the name on his cage it was Newton. Well we took that as a sign it was fate and adopted him after a short waiting period while our application was approved. He was the friendliest cat, so lovable, so adorable, would flip over and let you rub his belly. Monday morning our 15 year old daughter found him in the basement...she thought he was asleep. He wasn't. I still can't stop feeling like hell about this. I loved that cat, he had his own facebook! I think about cuddling him and his kisses and his need for greenies (of which I have several packages and our other kitty doesn't like them). He was one of my children, I'm feeling really lost and I need to just keep moving but all I want to do is hold him again.
