I did it! Well sort of...

I made it to Level 20! Yeah.... funny though, I haven't made my weight loss goal yet. These Spark points are nice, and they help me focus but I am not done. At one point I was down 30 pounds. Then I gained a bit back. I have a lot of work to do still.

I am doing it though. I had an injury last year that slowed me down, but I am better now, and I am in control. I am using my Fitbit that I got in March and I am still tracking, tracking, tracking.

I got a new doctor recently and assessed my medication etc, and did a physical. I mentioned numbers recently- I don't know what they all were but mostly good. I have to go back on Monday for a retest on some of it, and I won't be eligible to do my mammo until September, but I'm taking care of myself.

Recently I noticed myself reaching for the carbs quite a bit. I have to watch that. I did it last night at dinner. "Treating" myself to macaroni and cheese with a side salad. Hmm... is that a treat or a punishment? Wouldn't a better treat be something lower in fat and lower in salt?

I will keep trying though. The fact that I am aware of the choices I make is still something. 5 years ago I was not doing all of this. I didn't gain it overnight and I am not losing it overnight but I am not quitting either. Just need to keep on keepin' on.

    Hi Rebecca------ We have had 5 children-----now 8 Grand kids-----He does drive me crazy at times--- I am all for Women's rights--something Chinese men just don't believe in-----but-------here we are -----Sometimes being together is tough----but-----it has made for great stable grown kids!------perhaps not right in many ways------but-----In know he means well---I appreciate yer comments on da-blog!     Well done Hon! Staying on board is an achievement in itself - with SP I know I'd be sunk. This time around I've learned so much more and have achieved so much more - and I'm not done yet either! In fact, we never will be 'done' will we? I mean, WHEN I get to goal (note the WHEN, not IF) a new learning curve, challenge and need for support will begin. I can't imagine a life without SP and my amazing Friends.

    Treats are what YOU want them to be. A treat for your emotions may be different from what your body needs for a treat. Whatever. When you've had it/them, that's it. Draw a line and move on. To me it sounds as if you are making your choices come what may, but are not being blind to the dangers of them if they become a pattern. Well done.
