Sunday ...Free Day...will do lesson 85 on Monday

Saturday, June 21, 2014

We went to a swap meeting today to check out the critters & perhaps get a couple of Buff Orphingtons.. They are a large heavy golden feathered chicken that are very friendly & often quite broody ( they want to sit a nest). So I can raise my own replacements if I succeed in getting all of these gals raised .

This is a great example of a Buff Orphington hen..pretty chickens!

then the new babies are like...this is not them I cannot get pics yet as they are too shy!
But this is pretty close will have pics soon!!

This is kinda how the lil female looks...

this then is a pic of how they will look as adults....

So let the fun begin.!!!

built chick areas...cleaned rabbit hutches & generally spent the day being a small holding type farmer. Thank gosh the guy with goats did not have any left!!!

Tired...hot & need a shower..

Headed for that ..then a cool drink..then BED!! Good nite ya'al...

Nice chickens but love the bunnies! When I was teaching middle school special ed one year a parent gave us a bunny as a class pet - huge rabbit but not angora. When he didn't like something he would thump in his cage- hated my cat (when I took him home over vacations). He had a lot of personality. do you have to groom angora bunnies?

Lovely looking critters - my husband wants a goat, I am not sure it is practical where we live.

    Have a great day.

Pretty chickens!! Are they good lay-ers? Will you get a rooster as well, or no? They do make such a racket! My SIL has chickens, and I'm partial to the Polish crested - love their head feathers!! Sounds like you had a good day!
