I find that drinking water helps me feel better both mentally and physically. Yet this week, I have not been overly kind to myself. Oh just one ... surely won't kill me. Oh you can't always deny yourself. But what have I really denied myself- energy, sleep, health, etc... So much that I want to return to nurishing my body and my mind well. It may seem silly to some of you who have come so far to think that my drinking 8 glasses of water could make me feel so much better about myself but it is measurable, something I really need. I realize it is about more than water; it is about doing something that helps me focus on attaining my bigger goal of becoming a healthy me. Water cleanses, replenishes and in my case focuses.

If we don't nurture ourselves, who will? We are worth the effort!

For me, it also has to do with the small changes, the tiny steps that add up to miles. You are doing well Focus on water now and when it becomes second nature and part of your new lifestyle, you'll be confident to face another challenge.

    We are doing great!!

I recently started my improvements, and one of them was to start drinking at least a liter of water a day. For someone who before only drank maybe a cup of water every 3 days (not that I was drinking something else, I just wasn't taking in fluids at all since I was rarely thirsty), it has been a nice change. I have a 1L cup that I fill up at the beginning of the day, and make sure it's gone before I go to bed. Someday, I'll try to get it up to 2 L, but for now 1 is plenty enough of a challenge. Small steps. Congrats on already meeting the 8x8 goal.
