Finishing the weekend recap

Friday, June 20, 2014

Our last morning at the reunion was spent organizing
breakfast and then cleaning out all the rooms, refrigerators
and freezers, piling coolers into the vehicles and leaving
the lodge is a pristine condition. We took group pictures
and spent the last hours chatting and planning for next
year's reunion. Hard to say where it will be in a year's time
but sure it will be fun.
About half of the cousins and their families were directly
impacted by the tornado in Wessington Springs as they
all live in the general area. No one suffered any damages
to their homes or farms and we are so thankful. But the
devastation is daunting and so many of their friends lost
so much. The list of houses deemed unlivable keeps climbing
as at least 25 homes need to be demolished. The search is
on for any possessions that can be salvaged, or best yet,
even found. So many fond memories of their childhood
haunts that are gone forever. The town will never look
the same but no lives lost. Such a blessing.
I took the IMP back to the dealership yesterday and came
home driving a 2014 Chevy Equinox. Sweet ride but way
too much technology. Hope the technician can find all the
gremlins that are playing in my car and relocate them to
the trash. Waiting for a call to see how much it will cost
to repair. As she sits now, I could never trade her in with
all those problems.
Off to happier places as this is the last work day of the
week-in the office. A full slate ahead for housework, yard
work and such. Have a happy Friday and thanks for all
the comments left on my blogs. Only 380 emails to read
this morning LOL! HUGS!

Ah, it sounds like your family really had a nice time and such a wonderful way to have a family reunion. Mine gathers annually but lucky if folks stay for 3-4 hours and then they scatter again. Some of drive quite a long distance so it is a bit of a letdown to us. Oh well, what will be, will be and glad just to get to see them when I can make the 1100 mile trip!

I do hope the IMP's problems can be solved and that it won't be too terribly expensive.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

I don't think anyone can fully understand the devastation that a storm can bring unless they live through it. We can say how sad we are and wish the best for those involved of course. And, I do.

Glad so many of your relatives ended up unscathed.

Also glad you had such a great reunion.

I hope your vehicle repairs are only minor to the pocket book. It looks to be a very nice weekend here in NY - I hope you have the same.
