Good numbers, let's hope we get some more!

I don't want to jinx anything for tomorrow, but I'm not sure I believe in that stuff anyway.

As I posted the other day I've been trying to stay on track. I am trying to take care of myself even when I feel like I am falling apart.

This morning I met with my new primary care doctor. I had been introduced to her a month ago and heard good things about her. My old doc retired and I have been waiting to see who the new providers would be etc.

Well a month ago I went in because my kid had strep and I wanted to make sure I didn't have it too. Of course I had to step on the dreaded doctor's scale and I didn't like the numbers. Well today I had to step on the scale again (a different one honestly) and the number was about 5 pounds lower. I kind of wonder now if my scale at home isn't reading right because the numbers there aren't moving.

Anyway, that was good news. They checked my blood pressure and that was good too. She looked at my last cholesterol reading and even though that was quite a while ago it was good so she's not checking it again.

So tomorrow I go back for lab work. Let's hope the good numbers keep coming!

    Note: doctors often set their scales low (a) to accommodate clothing, and (b) make their patients feel better about the doc.

    Scales are just measuring devices. You can fool them, or yourself. The primary reasons for losing weight are:

    * being healthier
    * longevity
    * quality of life of you AND your family

    Sounds like you're making progress. Keep after it. Small, consistent steps, adjusting your program as you go.

    Having a good blood pressure reading is great news ! If your blood pressure has improved, I'm sure your cholesterol, blood sugar and tris have improved too.
