Death of a friend

Friday, June 13, 2014

She was funny, had a large, delightful and toothy smile, love her family intensely and spread happiness and solid joy everywhere. Even through two divorces (with the same man).

She raised her children: the eldest a sophomore in college, the youngest a new seventh grader. These kids are stupendous, high achieving and funny in their own way.

She was only 41.

She was diagnosed with breast cancer just after Memorial Day.

The cancer spread to her liver and brain by just this last Tuesday.

She died with her family around her on Wednesday evening.

Oh, the friends she left! The dear and kind family that will start the process of living without this wonderful woman.

My loss is minimal. Her family, though . . .

Well, we will a meet again someday. And for that, I am very thankful.

RIP, Jenca!
