Thoughts and Prayers

Wednesday, June 11, 2014

First off..my thoughts and Prayers are with everyone in Portland Or and Reynolds High School just as they are with Las Vegas, the LVMPD, and the guy killed at Walmart family. Such a sad time for all. First Sunday here in Las Vegas then yesterday in Portland. Since I'm from that area (Hillsboro) it makes me sad.

It's Hump Day. As always...I'm looking forward to the weekend. You'd think having two weeks off would make me less excited for the weekend. But NOOOOO...it can't get her soon enough! emoticon

We voted last night then went to dinner. Hubby suggested Panda Express...I looked at him and said...REALLY?!! I mean we'd been eating Chinese food for almost two weeks! OK..so I don't know if you can really classify Panda Express as Chinese food...but I do! He caught on right away that I did NOT want Panda Express...so we went to try our luck at getting into Golden Corral (evenings there's always been a line since they are relatively new in town). Guess what...NO line! So we ate there..and yes...I went over calories. emoticon But the food was excellent! Better then some of the buffets I've been to at some chain hotel/casinos. I ended up about 1000 over (really bad I know!) but I've just sucked it up and I moved on today! emoticon

Today I did 68 mins on the elliptical in the gym at work and stayed on track with my eating (so far..we'll see what dinner brings!). I've had about 92 oz of water (and boy...do I know it!) and I'll have more tonight at home. emoticon

The rest of the day has been spent working and a meeting. The guest speaker was the CEO of Taco Bell (he's taking over as CEO of the whole Yum brand). He was funny and passionate. Too bad everything he was passionate about is the passionate of what my company does. BTW..he's also on the BOD for my company. I think the message a lot of got was that we're working for the wrong people. emoticon

So this will be it for me today...Have a great Hump Day!

Well it sounds like you fell back into your routine without missing a beat! Good to have you back. It's getting scary, isn't it, everywhere you go any more. With the shootings, I mean. It makes one wonder what the long term forecast for random acts of violence is. There seems to be so much of it these days. Hugs, Calen~
