rain, rain, go away (by Thursday is ok)

Wanna go baseball! Fortunately, I didn't buy a ticket for tonight, would have been all wet, and alone in a park where they canceled the game long before the scheduled time.

Went and played trivia instead, and screwed up in the first round before the rest of my team showed up. For as well as we often do, we kind of stink at multiple choice questions, and I should have remembered our unwritten rule of, if you think it's False, write down True! Those 4 points lost before my partner in trivial crime showed up was the difference between a second place $50 gift cert, and actually having to pay for dinner (first time since I came back (5 contests) that we finished out of the top 3).

Anyway, while this particular contest is a bit out of the way, it a) pays off well if you finish highly, as previously mentioned, and b) starts at 7, which usually allows me to get back to the hotel by 9:30, just enough time to get down to the fitness room by 10:00 to watch the daily show while mindlessly pedaling, or ellipticalling (is that even a word?). Part of the reason that I've actually done something fitness worthy on most of the Tuesdays since I started roadwarrioring (is THAT even a word?) again.

I booked a flight earlier on Monday next week, inadvertantly - it was the cheaper option (although the advantage is mostly offset by the couple extra hours of rental car costs), and it turns out that works perfectly for actually getting to Chicago (ASSUMING THE PLANE IS ON TIME, which has happened once in 5 weeks, I think) in time for me to get to a bar and watch the USMNT play their first game of the world cup. And I book a flight for the next week late, so that I can watch as much soccer before having to go to the airport. I might be slightly excited for this.
