June 6 - Maybe some results

I spent a LOT of time on the phone today - probably around four or five hours- trying to get a handle on the diabetes diet. I found a dietician at a nearby hospital that is conducting a quarterly class but she was very sweet and spent about fifteen minutes asking and answering questions as well as giving me some tips on what may be going wrong. Initially, she thinks that now that I've upped my exercise routine (which she fully approved of due to the variance), that I am possibly not eating enough besides not getting enough carbs and that is why my system is out of whack.

I also managed to get hold of the insurance company to find out what they would or would not cover regarding covering my seeing a dietician and help with the accessories I need to track my glucose.

All in all, it was a very productive day and I feel more "empowered" with knowledge to get a handle on the situation. I sure am tired of feeling tired and under the weather not to mention having to call in to work.

    I am so glad to read that you were able to contact a dietitian and most especially that you found one with knowledge about managing diabetes. Diabetes is a complex disease to manage, especially if you are trying to lose weight and improve your health. And how great that you now feel empowered!
