...remember that tooth I broke

Just venting here...

Yesterday, while eating popcorn [BIG HUGE mistake] the other back half of the same tooth broke off [former Blog of it]. Obviously, I never got the crown the dentist suggested for $1700. However, I still have the front of that tooth. So, this tooth is a Premolar and now looks and feels like an Incisor. No pain at all. No dental insurance, since retirement.

A friend of mine had one of her back teeth pulled. She didn't want a root canal & crown. However, she is 15 yrs. older than I. Debating that just let the tooth be gone for good.

Going to also look into the Military Base north of us [we're in Alaska] and see if they will work on it. It would be cheaper to fly there & have them fix it for free than pay this dentist a bazillion dollars for one little tooth. Husband has to go there for an appointment anyway within the next month.

Being very particular of what I eat, in the meantime, this will help to keep calories down.

Oh oh! Glad it doesn't hurt anyway! I know whenever something weird happens to my teeth, if I don't get it taken care of I can't keep my tongue from messing with it and eventually my tongue gets sore! Take care!

Okay so the tooth won't grow long. I have had one gone for about 10 years and it is just fine. I have 3 missing now. They wanted to do an implant. 2000. It's surgery. I don't think I'll do that. I may get a partial if I ever get the money. The older I get the less money. I have. It was hard to have one pulled. A crown had broken off, and it became infected, and my jaw swelled. Could not believe anything could hurt that badly. It was extremely painful. If it starts hurting get it out as soon as possible. My jaw swelled up and it was terrible. Don't want to scare you.

Dentists LOVE popcorn!! That's how they get a lot of patients.

    Glad you have a plan.

Read that root canals are a no no.

The problem with a pulled tooth is that the one under/over may grow b/c it doesn't have another tooth to keep it ground down.

I've got a broken molar too. Rather weird having a tooth break. emoticon
