Blessings of the Day/Night....a newborn Bengal Kitten.

Friday, June 06, 2014

Had been so busy on Thursday, didn't get the chance to breathe..ok, so I did, but still.

Was up early to go to town, had to do a fasting blood sugar, among other blood tests (everything came back good, but for one which was ..high, but it didn't make sense because they wanted to increase my meds..it was for my levothyroxine (spelling), something about to lower it they had to increase my meds. I found out, while talking to the nurse that the Levothyroxine I was taking AND the synthroid were the same meds...I've been taking them forever at the same time BUT had missed them for a while, because I try to get up when my husband does, and when I miss waking up when he does, I wasn't taking it because I knew I couldn't take it when I ate breakfast, I had to take it while fasting, and I also had other meds to take and I couldn't take them with my other meds, so I'd just skip it, in order to eat breakfast on time, and take my other meds on time. (in error, I found out). I was told I could take the meds, wait ONLY a half an hour (during which time I could go out for my morning walk) then return and take the rest of my meds, and eat breakfast. Thank goodness. So now I need to go back in 8 weeks and get another blood test taken to see if I still need to change the medication amount. I also need to stop taking the synthroid. I felt like such a dunce, but she reassured me I didn't need to. *L*

Anyways, my A1C was 6.3, down from 6.5 3 months before YAY!! I expected higher because I'd had a few that had been high, in the 300's (dang pump!!) but thinking it over it was usually just after I'd changed my tubing over. So all was good! Today I also went over and had a shingles shot, and then our son and I went to a movie, had lunch beforehand, he went to see X Men (which I don't like those types of movies) and I went to see Million Dollar Arm (Excellent movie), and then came home, and our daughter called and asked if we wanted to go out to eat with her and her fiancee, so the 3 of us (son, hubby and I) went out for supper with them.

They got home and GUESS WHAT!! A NEW KITTY WAS BORN!! Yep, the baby Bengal kitten was there YAY!! Only one, so they get to rebreed her free of charge. It's in the contract that if they only get one kitten, they get a free breeding, so they have to meet the woman in Madison, and the woman will take her back up for another breeding. They're guaranteed at least 2 kittens. Which is great for the amount they paid for Nora (the mommy).

Brande (our daughter) took the cutest picture of the two of them, it looks like Nora's holding the baby with her tail and kissing the newborn kitten, so cute. The baby is a female (she thinkgs *L*, didn't get a good enough look, before the mommy took her back.

So that was our day, and why I've been gone until now. I hope yours was as blessed as ours. Have a great tomorrow.

What an adorable kitty! A friend of mine has a rescue Bengal. He is such a sweet cat!

Glad you're getting your meds straightened out. I know I have a hard time remembering mine if my routine gets altered at all. :(

OMG! You're taking Levo AND Synthroid? I started on Synthroid in 1998. Worked well. But the Dr. switched me to Levo, which turned out to be better for me. THEN had to go back on Synthroid when there were production problems. Flash forward . . . now I'm on Unithroid and it's all right. But I never had to take a combo of thyroid meds! Yikes.

Well, anyhow, glad it was straightened out. I had the same dilemma with timing and that's when I started getting up really early, too. I had to get DH to work and kids to school, so that meant breakfast, of course. So I'd get up @ 5, take my pill, do my "prep work" for breakfast and was able to have breaky w/the family. It's a pain sometimes to have to make such adjustments, but eventually it gets worked out.

How wonderful that you had time w/your son, DD and her fiancée! It's nice when they get to the age when they're not embarrassed to be seen with us, isn't it! LOL

Awwwww! What a sweet pic of Mom and Baby! She looks so adoringly @ the baby! Congrats!

HUGS and have a good Friday.
