It was a wonderful Wednesday, stopped at the Cemetery and read to my Dad from his Favorite book, I'm nearly 3/4 of the way through the book I promised him I'd finish reading to him as he was dying (Lonesome Dove, his favorite book in all the world which he had started reading before they found the brain tumor). It was raining a little, but I put plastic over the book to protect it, so it was all good.
I then went to the pool store to pick up some supplies and was a little irritated because my husband wouldn't answer the phone at work, nor could his secretary find him. The only granulated chlorine was $266. for 50 gallons, and I wasn't sure he wanted me to pay that much for it, and I waited 45 minutes for him to call me back. Finally I just decided to heck with it, and went to check out. Another woman checked me out , other than the one who'd been helping me all along, and..well, put it this way..I had God touch us 4 times.
1-The change in a new woman helping check me out;
2-This new woman mentioned a man who had been a former board member of our accessible playground board, and how he'd be able to help us with the rebuild (which I already knew, but still);
3-She'd actually helped build the "Little House on LaPrairie", a playhouse donated to our accessible playground;
4- and the best thing of all, we've been searching for the past 10 years for someone to take the place of our grantwriter who moved to Oregon (the state), because especially now, we need one to help us raise the $360, 000. to help rebuild the playground. This woman said she has just the person, and she'd call and give us the ladies phone number because she's been looking for a project just like this to help with.
I was floored...waiting in this place for 45 minutes, and God's hand touched me 4 times..unbelievable, but then it shouldn't be...He's always there.
Oh and on other things, my A1C (measures how my blood sugars have been averaging over the past 3 months, which I'd expected to be way out of control, someone without Diabetes is normally around 5.5), was 6.3, DOWN FROM 6.5 3 months ago!!! I was floored, and my blood pressure was down to 135/70....Wow...everything was great.
I do have an arch problem with my foot, which I figured something was wrong because my foot had been hurting, but that's because I've been walking to lose weight, but hey...everything else was great.
I've had such a great day, and I hope you have too. Remember, a smile will either make others wonder what you've been up to, or it'll give them a light to guide them into the brightest of days!
Oh, and no kittens yet, I told my daughter they'll be born a year to the day before their wedding day! *LOL* 6/6/14
