5k Your Way Program- Day 2

Yesterday I began the "5k Your Way Walk/Jog Training Program". I was extremely nervous to start, because although I have been exercising for almost a year now, I have never been good at running outdoors. Instead, I spend most of the time on an elliptical trainer. Despite this, yesterday I pushed myself to do something new (and something I had always wanted to and wished I could do).
I started my run with a 5 minute brisk walking warm up. I then edited the program a little: I ran for 1 minute then walked for 3 and repeated this 5 times (to get the same total of a 25 minute work out). I was ASTOUNDED by my results. Last week I had tried going for a job (however, I spent most of my time walking). I only made it one mile and it took me almost 13 minutes. However, last night I made it 3.75 miles and the entire 25 minutes!!!! It was only my first day of the program, and I had already ran over a 5k!!!!!!!!!!
I then came home and did Hip Hop Abs Ab Sculpt with my mom. Ending my night with almost a full hour work out and burning over 600 calories :)
