May 2014 Review

I made some progress again during the month of May... although during the first couple of weeks I had a slight setback. Gained a few pounds due to water retention that was stubborn. Extremely stubborn. I had such good success with the Fast Metabolism Diet the first round... however, the second round I just barely held my ground. I don't think it was the diet... I think it was hormonal issues accompanied by extreme feelings of stress and other frustrating mental issues... As I neared the end of my second round on the FMD, I decided to try another way to get the weight moving down again... and to get rid of the water I was retaining, in spite of drinking 10 glasses of water daily.
In the past I have had success doing the Atkins Diet, so with much consideration of what I should do, I chose Atkins again, and I'm glad I did.
While I started the month of May at 203.5, I actually started Atkins around May 21/22 at 208. Within a few days I was back down, and not long after that I finally crossed over into ONEderland. I ended the month of May at 197!!! That's 11 lbs gone with Atkins with a net loss of 6.5 lbs for the month of May.
Also this month, my youngest son graduated high school! I am so proud of him! In the fall he will be off to college. Luckily, the one he's attending isn't too far from home and I will get to see him ... hopefully every weekend. :)
So, while May began on a rough note.. it ended on a good one.
