June Goals

Thursday, May 29, 2014

So I'm nearing the end of May... still the same weight I've been since December... Honestly maintaining is not bad however, it's not what I want right now.

But I have learned a lot in this time. It's not about the end but the journey along the way!

In June I'm going to set up some goals. 2014 is almost half way over and I'd like to loose 4 pounds in June. So I'd like to see 190 by July 1st.

I'm also considering not looking at weight at all. I'm thinking about purchasing a body fat analyzer and just going off of that. Honestly I just really need a good scale! I feel the cheap $20 one at walmart is just not accurate. but maybe it really is telling me the truth. After months of being in the gym (missing one or two workouts a week, not making the best food choices) I really am not loosing any weight.

Part of me refuses to believe that, but now that I'm getting it into words it seems true.

I am feeling a little like I will never see a healthy weight, a little discouraged.

I'm excited about being healthy today. That really starts with getting off the couch and having a healthy breakfast and figuring out my June goals.
1) Training every Monday (don't skip) I even went Memorial day! Holidays are just a day to show my healthy
2) Every day 30 minutes of fitness (weekends is yoga) I would really love to see if in June of doing a good month of exercise I still don't loose weight
3) Free MEAL One day each week. That's Breakfast, Lunch, or dinner. I can have fried food, soda, sweets. Any other day or meal I do need to take the healthier option.

You can do it! 80% of weight loss/gain is diet and 20% is exercise. If you are within the calories each day and are still not losing weight, it might be time to take a look at where those calories are coming from. 100 calories in cookies versus 100 calories in a salad are not the same. The cookies spike your blood glucose levels which eventually creates hormones that make you store fat while the salad keeps your blood glucose constant. Try to eat foods with a low glycemic index... they are more nutrient dense and won't spike up your sugar. A good book to read is "the blood sugar solution" by Dr. Mark Hyman. It teaches you how to eat to lose weight and fight obesity and diabetes. Hope my comment helps you lose weight!

There are lots of paths to a healthy lifestyle ... but all are work. AND ... all require you to make a DECISION as to how important this is compared to a bite of this or that.
SO DECIDE ... and then do it. For me it always comes back to counting calories and putting everything I eat into the SP Tracker. Have a good June.
