Traveling is Hard to Stay on Track

Wednesday, May 28, 2014

Went to granddaughters graduation earlier this month and put on 5 lbs. I have taken 2 off. Leaving tomorrow to see her get baptized. Have to be more careful in what I eat and get some exercise to go along with it.

It is great to see our grandchildren grow up. I’m so proud of her!!!

For me anyway... traveling is the hardest time, for staying on track. But I'm sure seeing her graduate & get baptized is something you wouldn't want to miss. One thing that helps me, is to hit up a grocery store and get a load of fresh vegetables and fruit, to keep me from snacking on junk and sweets.

It is kind of a pain to gain the weight but you wouldn't want to miss those wonderful occasions in life. Do you think some of it could be water weight? I always gain when I travel because my feet swell from being in the car a lot.

I think it is also hard to get in the exercise that we are used to doing. So--try to get a walk--take a grand with you!!

Enjoy those celebrations and good times with grandkids! They're priceless!

That said, making healthy choices whenever I can, pencil and paper tracking, and hopping up and getting things for others at the celebrations--thus eating less myself, are some of the things that help me as well as fitting in walks when I can; usually early in the morning.. Yes, I eat what I want and it's not perfect, but less than I used to and NO MINDLESS EATING.

    Congratulations to all!
