Working with what I got

Wednesday, May 28, 2014

Has not been a good week, has not been a bad week. I went to see my mom for my dad's birthday. We ate at his favorite Chinese restraunt, ordered his favorite stuff. Then we hit up garden shops. As nuts as my mom can make me sometimes I am happy I went. I feel like it made her day easier. She bought me a peonie which led to me buying another one. They are going nuts all over town right now. I learned that the reason peonies have ants on them is that the ants help with this sticky residue to get the peonie to open. Then once the ant does it's job it moves on to other work. I asked a woman at work about this because my mom was worried about bringing ants in the house. But really ants shouldnt be attracted to the open flower. Interesting, I never knew that.

Friday I got a call from my doctors office about my bloodwork from my rhemotologist. She said there was so signs of my mixed connected tissue disease in my bloodwork at all! It has completely disappeared for my pregnancy, how amazing is that! The nurse practioner said sometimes your body releases natural steroids and these things just take care of themselves when pregnant. So bizarre, something I have had for 10 yrs just disappeared for this period of my life!

Eating has been kinda bad lately. I have been trying hard to go on walks after big meals. It makes me feel a lot better. I need to focus on 2 small dinners maybe. 1 big dinner makes me feel like I am dieing lol I did my dance class yesterday morning and as usual it made me so hungry all day long. So this morning when my alarm went off at 4:30 my thought was "ughhh do i wanna feel like I am starving all day?". So I slept lol Already at 5000 steps from half a day of work so far. It's raining!!!! Yayyyy no watering my garden today!

I'm so glad you were able to spend that time with your mom. She has lost her soul mate and I'm sure having you there means more to her than you even know!

Glad your blood work looks good!

Sounds like a good time with your mom. Sometimes it helps to go through with what used to be tradition when a loved one is there. I'm glad you're doing alright on this front.

That's so weird about your pregnancy, but good! I wonder how my thyroid will sometimes react whenever I end up having children. I look forward to the day when the time is right. :)

You should give yourself a pass, you're pregnant. Of course watching what you eat is important, but being pregnant sometimes means eating more than what is accustomed to. I've had eating problems and I'm not even pregnant! Lol! :) Glad to hear your week went okay.

Sounds like things are pretty good - though with the hungries, maybe you need to increase protein? Or carbs? Or whatever it is your body is craving and thus making you hungry.

Weird about the ants and peonies!

You are so considerate to your mom. Your dad and she did a good job of raising you. I know I sometimes must drive my son crazy too - it comes with age - we can't help it. LOL. My son is like you and tries to see the good in me and not focus on the ways I could be better. I appreciate and I know your mom does too.

I love peonies and grow them. Sometimes the buds have ants and sometimes not but they still okay. Sometimes there will be an ant on the open flower when I go to bring them inside but I can shake them off.

Pregnancy is weird. My high blood pressure went into remission when I was pregnant.

It has been raining here almost every day. I never did find any fennel to plant.
