Some of you may have noticed I've been kind of M.I.A. (missing in action - for those of us not into the initials of things). I've been here but not participating in much of anything. Truth is I had been feeling pretty guilty about the fact that I had been talking the talk but not walking the walk. While I had been cheering everyone on and telling them to keep up the great work, I myself was only logging in and then continuing on in my bad habits. Truth is I reached my highest weight ever of 195 lbs. That's a lot of weight for my 5'1" frame. I have never felt so tired from every little movement and so out of breath after one flight of stairs.
Truth be told I believe it is the fact that I have been faithful to checking in at Sparkpeople that has given me hope that I haven't given up yet. In the last two weeks I have made some little and I do mean little changes in my life. I'm not walking miles or hours but only minutes, some days only 10, but I am trying to give myself credit for doing even that. I have really been trying to track my eating and eat mostly vegetables, fruits, lean meats and fish and extremely little processed food. I have been conscious of my water intake. I also switched from coffee to tea, after reading about how much mold can be in our coffee.
Amazingly, after two weeks I have lost 5 lbs... haven't woke up with headaches...have tons more energy. I hope I'm on the right track this time. I hope by confessing it will give me the courage to stay faithful and not let myself down again. I know I'm not the only one on this path ...look at all of us here on the Spark. We just need to stay the course.
