I have been debating for several weeks now whether to write this blog or not.





Sometimes.....friends.....on
line teams....families.......can affect you mentality on being healthy depending on where your mind happens to be at the moment. It seems that the people that complain the most....make the most excuses.....can spawn more to join in to their way of thinking. For others that are doing well....trying to do well......just get exasperated. There is a difference in sharing and asking for guidance as opposed to......despair and making light of it or lamenting about so said fact.

I will say this......outside factors can limit your progress....an injury...illness....stress....
..ETC......so bide your time......get thru the time frame and do what you can...how you can.....till it passes.

My motto has always been....BACK TO THE BASICS. If something isn't working....take a step backwards....review and try to approach it as a NEWBIE. Corporations.....Successful businesses do just that.


I totally understand the concept.....If you are HERE to LOSE weight.....you are going to FAIL. CHANGE is the ONLY KEY FACTOR in the SCALE RESULT you wish to seek and be able to HOLD onto that CHANGE for the end results.

Change does NOT happen over night. Wished it did, but it sure doesn't.....didn't.....for me. I seemed to get one thing under control....and more obstacles would FIND me. TIME has been on my side.

It took THREE years to get where I am now. THREE YEARS....AFTER I decided to attempt to lose weight.....actually FOUR years if you want to jump ahead to this September.

Should I be ashamed? No......for it is MY reality.....MINE alone.....and no one else.

I use to struggle with DAIRY.... emoticon ......not anymore. Once I accepted the fact that I needed it.....I found WAYS to make it work for me to get in my servings.

My STRUGGLE to this day...is STILL VEGETABLES. emoticon I am AWARE of this and focus on it everyday. Am I successful every day? NO......not right now....but there was a TIME when I wasn't obtaining my DAIRY either.....now...it is second nature to me.....it is a BREEZE. One day ....VEGETABLES will be as well.

When people TIRE of healthy eating........that tells me...they are NOT making it work for them.

How to make it work?

I make SURE that I LIKE every single MEAL I am going to have for the day...the week......I want to LOOK FORWARD to what i have PLANNED....hence...another KEY to being successful.....PLANNING....EXE
CUTING.....ENJOYING........

This week at weight watchers....our leader STRONGLY URGED that we have TWO clear bowls in our refrigerator at ALL TIMES. One for FRUIT...one for VEGGIES. The STEAL OF THE DEAL.....have at LEAST THREE different COLORS in the bowls.

I.......

actually DID this......I didn't blow the suggestion off.......I didn't think...YEAH...YEAH...YEAH....
I DID...DID.....DID.....

and it WORKED.

My struggle for VEGETABLES......was easier for me ....and being on a HOLIDAY WEEKEND TO BOOT......





So...when your circle of friends try to spin you in....that web of excuses.....whether they realize it or not........

Stand back......think of where you CHOOSE to be...WISH to be......and go forward.....and be strong....FOR YOU.

.....because.....it REALLY is only up to you.....for YOU.

    Mary, well said, as usual. I struggle with fruit & veggies also so now I have low sodium spicy V8 every morning for breakfast. not as good as whole fruit and veggies but it is fast, I do not have to think about it and I get 2 servings of veggies to start my day. Win-win in my book, at least for me. Keep pushing !

    The line from A Few Good Men that says "You can't handle the truth" is true for most people. The truth is, weight loss and healthy living has to be done by the person wanting it. Period. You can't eat my vegetables and I can't drink your milk. You can't do my strength training and I can't do your yoga. It doesn't work that way. We are each accountable for ourselves period. Once we all realize that what we do has consequences, either good or bad, we will have a chance to move forward.

    Just as a hint, if you ever make any type of smoothie or breakfast drink, add spinach. You can't taste it at all, and it counts as a vegetable. If you cook your spaghetti sauce long enough, you can add shredded carrots to your spaghetti sauce and you can't taste it. It just adds a slight hint of sweetness to the sauce. emoticon

But I know now, by your actions, talk, and results, that you have grabbed and held on to the facts that health and healthy eating is the way of life. Congrats to you.
