This weekend was a long weekend. Monday being a holliday, I had decided to use this time to get the pool started, mow the lawn, get some cleaning done ... basically cramping a week's worth of work in a 3 days weekend. (why do we allways do that??)
My daughter had a driver's lesson that I had to attend to. They took 2 hours to explain to us the right way to be when letting our kids drive with the learner's permit. Since we had forgotten her class in tuesday, we had to take it in St-Lazare. A bit too far for us to walk there... My husband doing overtime these days, I didn't have access to our car so I decided to rent one. I had decided to walk to Budget get the car, go to the class, drop my daughter at home, go for groceries then go to the pool store to buy the chemicals I needed to start the pool.
I had a long walk. For whatever reason, I had in mind that Budget was at a certain place. so I started walking there to see it had moved. I had printed out the address, but didn't check properly. where it used to be, the address number was less than 300. I had to find 900A. Basically by the time I got there I had walked 4.31km instead of the 2.76 if I had taken the right way....
After the class, grocery shoping, and pool stuff, I brought the car back and walked the 2.76km back home. Then I decided to mow the lawn since it was getting long and I hadn't tried yet my new baby my husband bought me for my birthday. Then I started getting the pool ready only to realise one of the pipes was broken...
well. I would have to go back to the store on Sunday. So I decided to cook a few meals in advance.
Sunday I did go get the new pipe. It took forever and a lot of swearing to get the old pipe off the system... but I did manage to get in off and install the new one. I put some water in the pump to make sure there wouldn,t be too much air in the system and flipped the switch to start the pump. Alas, the pump had died sometime in the winter.... grrrrr..... I made a few calls to find out how much it costs and how hard it is to install.. answer : $440.00 taxes included and it's really easy to install. you plug it to your pipes (after you've taken off the old one) and simply plug it in the socket. Wow how easy that is!
But... I don't have a socket in the shed... the previous owner had the pump plugged in directly in the switch. So that means I have to have a socket installed....
At least I managed to reach my nephew who ewill come next Sunday to install the socket. Would have loved to do it Saturday, but I have my 2 finals on Saturday.
I know I know, this is long.... but I am not done.
The nice thing is that starting May 31st I am on vacation for 2 weeks. And, we will be spending 1 week in Cuba relaxing.... I can't wait to get there!
