Our weekend

Sunday, May 18, 2014

Well, it wasn't that exciting of a weekend but we did do several things. Thursday evening we went and saw the movie Noah and Friday evening we went the NAPA tool show which always has a really good dinner provided. Saturday morning DH had the church men's group so I fixed my own breakfast (he's gotten into the habit of getting breakfast for me on Saturdays) and went shopping. When I got home there was a dish of food from the Men's breakfast so that was an early lunch for me. The 2 grandkids plus one friend came over in the afternoon and played with the kids from down the street, then the 3 of them spent the night and we all went to church this morning. I did have to get up during the service and walk over to sit with them as the girls were busy playing a game and could tend to get a little noisy. One would think at 11 they could act a little better but our daughter hasn't been good about getting her kids to church. Today after church we went to brunch. There was a wait for table for couples so the hostess looked at me and the other couple waiting (my DH was in the restroom) and said she had a big table if we wanted to share so we agreed and had a very nice meal with this other couple. I think we could be good friends-wonder if we'll see them there again. This afternoon Charles and I got the money counted and deposited then Larry and I went to a church in Jacksonville to hear our former organist perform. He is working on his doctorate in music/organ and is a joy to hear. He was shocked to hear we don't have anyone playing our pipe organ since he left. So that's been our weekend-busy and fun but not much exercise yesterday and today. Okay other than the shopping I would have to say no exercise!

Hope anyone reading this has had a wonderful weekend!

Sorry I missed your blog earlier. You are always a busy bee! That is a good thing and nice your hubby cooks your breakfast once a week! Now if I could get mine to start cooking again! emoticon
When I was 10 my Mom started taking me to church, I was looking forward to it. But, as time went on I do remember I fidgeted a lot and complained and got the look a lot! emoticon You did the right thing, that is one place we should pay attention and not play-especially at that age. Very distracting. We all understand if a really young one gets fussy or had to have something to keep him distracted though.

Thanks for always supporting my blogs, means a lot to me! emoticon

Hope you are able to stand this heat! I swear I am having a hard time adapting to it this year! Is it me or is this heat early? I hate to think what August is going to be like!! UGH! emoticon

I'm late in reading your blog. I've been away again. But, hopefully I'm back on SP for awhile. I just mess things up on my own. anyway, sounds like that day was nice and relaxing. btw, i haven't been good about getting my kids to church either (like your daughter), my kids whisper so loudly and ask things like, "When is this over?" or "This is so boring" and my face looks like emoticon .

    Take care.
