Lost My Spark

Sunday, May 18, 2014

I literally, on the way home from work a little over a week ago, lost my spark. My precious spark tracker fell off somewhere in the woods as I was hurrying home after a 12 hour shift. I have retraced my steps numerous times, but it just seems to have vanished,
This came on the heels of a couple of pounds of unexpected weight regained, and a perfect storm of stressors at work and at home. I have cried and pouted and been thoroughly thrown off my "groove". I balked at manually punching in the numbers that my Spark has been so faithfully uploading for me. As if having my little hissy-fit would change anything. Its time to remember what I have learned over and over on this journey...

I saw a fox on one of my trips to search for my tracker. A young Mom, I think; judging by the fact that she felt the need to warn me not to come closer. And I brought my youngest daughter on one of my search missions as well and we saw the full moon rise together. These moments are priceless. These moments are my reason for getting healthy in the first place.

I hope to have the money to replace my tracker in the near future, but in the meantime, Rule # 1 still stands: NO EXCUSES.

I can still walk and track my exercise and eat healthy food and drink lots of water and spread the Spark to others. I can still be very proud of all that I have accomplished and filled with hope and excitement for what I can achieve moving forward.

And I am.

I did the same thing last Tuesday. I was doing housework for Mom and went to the store for her. When I got out of the store, it was pouring rain. By the time I got home, my tracker was gone. Mom couldn't find it, so I ordered another one. A couple days later, it was sitting on Mom's table. Hoping you get to order another one soon.

Poor thing! Buy a new spark! Isn't it funny how we struggle so much when something little goes wrong? I have a magic jacket for running. I cannot run without it, which means if it is too hot or too cold for the jacket I will stay inside. Yeah, I know there are people who run with just a T-shirt on, but for the life of me, I cannot do it! I liked your blog! Good luck getting back on track!
