Doing what I need to do for me

Thursday, May 15, 2014

What I am doing is key and I do it for me.
Timing can be everything also. Last night there was a bit of tension in my household, but I didn't let that stop me from going to my fellowship meeting.(aka WineDown Wednesday) It was wonderful to let my blood pressure slowly drop.
I must admit I was a bit surprised when a woman said that she recognized me. She did look a bit familiar. Luckily she recalled that we were quad-mates back over 40 years ago.

What surprised me most was that she recognized me even though I am about 100 pounds heavier than I was back in 1973. No I wasn't mortified, about my weight. My thoughts... even with all the life changes the essence of who I am is still present, no matter my age, size or events. I am still me. Wow!
Yes I have defining roles: wife, mother, grandmother, sister, advocate. That vivacious girl back in the dorm, full of life, I'm still her and she is still me.

So even with pollen stuffed sinuses, a treasure was discovered. I am not lost, the essence of who I am is still here. So I am going back to describe that girl of years ago.
This should be interesting.
