Hello Everyone,

I am stopping by early today because I know the site does maintenance later this evening, and I may not be able to get back here later tonight before that happens.

It was rainy earlier, but it has cleared up now. It is still a little cloudy, but I think the rain is gone for now. It is warm, so I don't mind the rain too much.

MORTICIA, your chinchillas sound so cute. I do not know anyone else who raises chinchillas. How many do you have? Oh yeah, the cats will 'down' a food one day, and turn their nose up at the same food when served the next day. However, I guess that is another way that our animals are like 'people.' I mean WE don't want the same food every day! emoticon

RELISA, thank you for stopping by. I am sorry about the loss of Banner. Cricket passed away a little over a week ago. He was 18, and he was the sweetest of my cats. Not that they all aren't sweet, but he was like your Banner, more like a dog than a cat. Mercy is a very cute name for a pet. If I ever get another kitten, I might name her Mercy. Right now, I don't need another kitten though. I still have 5, and three of them are beginning their 'senior' years. I believe I read somewhere that 8 years old is considered a 'senior' in cat's lives. Freedom is 8, and Max and Jade are 9. I know from experience with Cricket that 'seniors' can get health issues. Again, just like 'people.'

emoticon back to you, 1CRAZYDOG! Yeah, Cricket was 'SPECIAL.' His bed is still here, and I often find Kobe either resting or sleeping in Cricket's bed. Kobe used to sleep with Cricket, until Cricket got sick. Kobe has his own bed, but he loved Cricket, and I believe that bringing Kobe as a kitten into Cricket's life when he was 14, helped to keep Cricket active and alert for a few extra years.

LESLIE, emoticon to you, too. I do miss Cricket, but I know that he is in a better place. He really had no quality of life the last couple of days that he was alive. His eyes looked so sad, but I could see love there when we would talk to him and pet him. He was ready to cross the Rainbow Bridge, and knowing that, I had to let him go. It was sad encouraging him to "Cross Over the Rainbow Bridge," but I knew it was what was best for Cricket.

Again, THANK YOU all for your support. You guys are the GREATEST! Take care, ALL, and have a wonderful and blessed day!

I can't imagine having all the cats you do; the most I've had at one time was 3. It's amazing that they all do have such different personalities.

    I hope you're having a great day!

    Hugs, Leslie emoticon

emoticon The weather here has been nice too. it is such a joy to have sunshine and warmer weather. Lately, due to the temp being up into the eighties, I have been wearing short sleeve shirts. This is such a big change from the cold weather that we get here in Upstate New York.

We bought 2 chinchillas that were supposed to both be males but they weren't and Rico Suave and Bun had 3 litters. The first little was Runtster (male), Blocker (female), Wheeler (female), and a little male that died shortly after birth. The second litter was Baxter (male) and Squeaker (female), plus another little male that also died shortly after birth. The third litter was Porkie (male) and Stinker (female). So we had 5 females and 4 males for a few years until Wheeler and later Stinker died. Now we have 7.
