Steampunk Photo Shoot

Visited my uncle yesterday in the late morning... he had some breakfast, was awake, and was talking a lot better. The main issue is his chest pain, the fact he had a heart attack, little to no mobility, and there is something going on with his memory. When we saw him in the morning he started crying and said that he is too much to take care of, that he won't ever see us again, and said we're going to get rid of him. He apparently has been so heavily medicated that he didn't remember us being there at all. In his mind that was the first time we saw him when actually we've been there twice a day every single day. I reassured him that we've been there every day, that he's going to be fine, and that we love and care about him so he doesn't need to worry about us getting rid of him or not seeing him.
My boyfriend got off of work at 2:30 yesterday so he took me to the gym to workout since I hadn't been there at all this week because of my uncle being in the hospital. I did 1.3 miles on the "pink" treadmill at Planet Fitness which is the treadmill they will donate a dollar for breast cancer for every mile done on that treadmill. After my 1.3 miles I did 10 minutes on the arc trainer and was too pooped to do weights. We're going to the gym today and I can do some light cardio (probably a mile on the pink treadmill) and some weights.
After the gym yesterday we went to the dollar store and picked up 2 Mother's Day cards for a family friend and my godmother. While we were there I got my uncle a get well card, a smiley face balloon, and a solar powered plastic flower with 2 lady bugs on it that goes back and forth when it's charged up. We took it to him last night and he loved it! It made him smile.
I've been working on making some shoes I got at Payless last week into Steampunk style shoes by gluing stuff on them. So far they look really cool and I can't wait to wear them to my photo shoot next weekend! I'm doing a steampunk themed shoot to celebrate my weight loss and I'm really nervous! My boyfriend had gotten me a steampunk style corset so I thought that would be something neat to shoot in and the photographer said sure. I thought making my own shoes would be a nice added touch to the shoot since she doesn't have any shoes in my size. She will be providing wardrobe, props, wigs, makeup, and accessories so most of the stuff will be included which is nice :) I have a black ruffle skirt to go with the corset and the shoes will look really neat. When I'm done with the shoes I'll post a before and after photo so you all can see what I've been working on to try to keep my mind off of Mother's Day and my uncle being in the hospital. It also doesn't help that my other uncle who's older is experiencing chest pains, shortness of breath, and is tired all of the time... he hates needles and doctors and refuses to see anyone. He made himself in charge of my other uncle's care and honestly I think that is a very bad decision as I am the most competent, sane, normal, logical, younger, and healthiest person in our very small family.
