Dear pollen please get lost

Tuesday, May 06, 2014

The weather is just getting to the point where it would be wonderful to walk outside if it wasn't for the abominable tree sex. Can't walk outside if I can't breath afterword. My car has a golden haze from all the pollen. I can garden for about 15 min before I need to go back inside. The upside is I do channel the Tazmanian devil while weeding so I can make the most of the time.

I joined a spring bootcamp challenge so I can get back to consistent exercising. Was planning to pack my lunch this morning but discovered the girls had beat me to the leftovers. I need to make a couple large batches of vegetable curry, garbanzo bean soup and lentil soup so I have leftovers to work with. I do need to make a veggie run today (yep the girls ate those too). The good thing is since I do most of the shopping the amount of junk food in the house has decreased. Snacks have moved toward hummus and vegetables or pita chips or fruit and yogurt. Currently I'm still the only one that likes plain Greek yogurt or cottage cheese so at least those snacks are safe.

Figuring out what to eat for lunch that will have veggies and not a lot of fat. Then what to do about dinner since I'm going from work, to doctor appointment for oldest, back home then out to a meeting at church. I may just string together some snacks. I'm not sure I'll have time for an actual meal.

The pollen has been pretty nasty. I would love to go for a walk outside and to open the windows of the apartment but the pollen is killing me. But everything is pretty and green with flowers starting to bloom.

    Have a wonderful day!
