So I let myself go for the past month. I kept on saying I was going to do better but never did. I am not cutting out carbs and drinking a lot more water. I bought some kale at the farmer's market Sat so I will have a spinach and kale salad for supper. I seem to have misplaced my Hip Hop abs, so now I have a search and rescue for it, lol. I have definitely had a lot going on this past month, that would explain the let go. I am now prepairing for my my son to return home May 22, it's been a long road, but I think he has finally grown up. He lost weight while he was gone, so I am hoping to encourage him to get out and play more. I bought him a new bike, so I told him I will buy and we will go riding. I know a great place we can go riding trails. I will just have to get a bike rack. A lot has got to change at home, when my 7 yr old will not eat her food, but will eat junk that is a problem. I just plan on not buying any junk and we will just have one hungry lttle girl. THings have to change in my house, and we are starting today.

GOOD FOR YOU. IT IS SO HARD TO TRY TO GET KIDS TO CHANGE THEIR HABITS. WHAT I DID WAS MADE THE KIDS GO THROUGH THE CUPBOARDS AND FRIDGE WITH ME AND ASKED THEM WHAT THEY THOUGHT WAS UNHEALTHY. I WAS AMAZED AT HOW WELL THEY DID. THEN I TOOK THEM SHOPPING WITH ME AND ASKED THEM TO HELP PICK OUT THE VEGGIES. I COMPLETELY BYPASSED THE MIDDLE AISLES OF THE STORE AND JUST DID THE OUTSIDE. THEIR TREAT WAS TO PICK OUT WHAT YOGURTS THEY WANTED. THEY STILL WHINED A LITTLE WHEN THEY WANTED THEIR TREATS. I TOLD THEM IF THEY WANTED THEM BAD ENOUGH THEY COULD SPEND THEIR ALLOWANCE ON THEM. FUNNY HOW THAT WORKED. THEY WERE BOTH SAVING FOR OTHER THINGS THAT THEY THOUGHT WERE MORE IMPORTANT. HA! emoticon

I'm going through something similar with my 5yr old. If there is cheese, tortilla's, mac and cheese or chips in the house- that is all he will want to eat. He's old enough know that he will look in the pantry and see what there is and then he's stubborn about it. We had to stop buying it completely. Last night he complained that he was so hungry- his only option was fruit. He finally gave in and ate a banana. It's rough to know he's hungry- but I know I'm not starving him and it's his choice to eat the fruit or go hungry. Tough love.... emoticon
