I feel like I have a fairy godmother behind the scenes making my day awesome!
My wonderful co-workers gave me an amazing gift for my 40th. A facial and massage at The Nurture Nook. I had never had a facial before. It was...interesting. I don't think I will be doing it again. It wasn't bad, but it didn't seem like it was anything I couldn't do at home. Regardless, it was relaxing. Then came the massage. I was skeptical because I have a had a difficult time finding someone who was willing to be forceful enough. Well, now I think I am in love! Cara was AMAZING!! I was a huge pile of goo by the time she was done and this was the first time since tearing the tendon in my foot a year ago that I was able to walk without pain or discomfort!
When I was done I checked my phone that I had turned off when I arrived at The Nurture Nook. My boss called and asked if I would be able to come in early. I didn't have any other plans and knew I had a wedding setting up for later on in the day and two fund raisers this weekend to prep for so I did. When I arrived James looked at me and gave me a funny smile. Then he said, "Well, this is a new look for you." When I inquired as to his meaning, he simply replied, "Well, your shirt is on inside out...and backwards....what on earth have you been up to today??" So, yeah. My massage was SO good I wasn't even able to dress myself!
Then when I get to work I get to see my FAVORITE foodie friend, Juan, and incredible vegetarian chef and super healthy eater. He and I swap recipes like kids used to swap baseball cards! He brought lunch for everybody including my FAVORITE Crack Salad! (It's a potato salad that I literally am addicted to, so I've named it "crack salad".)
Then my boss called me into his office to commend me on the amazing job I have been doing with my brides and then tells me the board of directors has approved a pay increase for me!! Whoa!!! Totally unexpected and VERY appreciated since my husband is still currently job hunting.
And finally, the icing on the cake? A wonderful wonderful bride who I have actually become friends with after working so closely with her on her event got married today to her fairy tale prince! I love these two so much and I am just bursting with happiness!!!
