Spark People posted a "Mile-A-Day Challenge for May."

I walked 4.30 miles yesterday according to my fitbit.

My fitbit makes me aware of how many steps I take a day. I aim for 10K. But, on days that my knee is bothering me, I can see half of that! Yesterday my knee was feeling really good; I ran intervals, and it was fairly easy.
5 Min Walk
(2.5 Min Easy Jog + 2.5 Min Walk) X 5 Intervals
5 Min Walk

Visit MyRunningMate to download an easy 8 week training program. Load it on your iPod, and listen to the coach talk you through intervals. Each week you do 3 runs, about 30 min.

I want to alternate days of cardio & strength. Then for strength, I want to alternate upper & lower body, also doing abs each time. Abs are really my weak point.

5/1: 4.3 miles

May is going to be a challenging month, in terms of eating & budget. It's my DS22's college graduation. I'm going to be traveling from IL to NY for that. I'm so proud of him, because I just found out he has a job lined up. I can't say on social media where he's working or for how much. But I can say it's a fortune 500 company, and a substantial salary.

Mangos are in season here, so I make my signature dish, Turkey and Mango Picadillo
1 pound(s) uncooked ground turkey breast
1 Tbsp oil
1/2 cup(s) uncooked scallion(s), sliced
2 clove(s) (medium) garlic clove(s), minced
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried thyme
1 cup(s) fat free salsa, thick-and-chunky style
1 large mango(es), cubed (or 15 oz unsweetened, frozen mango chunks)
2 cup(s) cooked brown rice, kept hot
