Healthy Food Buys

We made it to the gym last night and I literally had to force myself to go. It was so hot out and I was feeling so tired and pooped out but we went anyways! I started feeling sick in the afternoon and I still feel a little bit under the weather. I think I may have gotten a cold from some where :( I really really hate being sick but hate it even more when it's so hot and muggy out. The heat really makes it hard for me to get up and moving and takes a toll on my energy levels.

At the gym I did 30 minutes on the arc trainer and burned 433 calories :) I went harder and faster than ever before and I think I did pretty good. Afterwards I went to the leg press machine and did 100 reps of 410 pounds :) Really proud of myself to be able to push myself and do something I never thought I could do.

After the gym we went to Grocery Outlet and Food Maxx for some grocery shopping. I tried to get almost everything healthy with the exception of Oscar Mayer jalapeƱo hot dogs. My boyfriend saw them at Grocery Outlet and loaded up the cart with 6 packs for $.99 each which is an awesome deal but they're hot dogs lol not exactly healthy but oh well everyone else can have them. We got 2 big cucumbers 2 for $1.00, 3 pack of romaine for $2.99, 2lb bag of roma tomatoes for $1.99, a Dole pineapple for $1.99, 4 avocados for $2.00, peaches for $1.25 a pound, red seedless grapes for $2.49 a pound, large watermelon for $3.99, 4lb strawberries for $7.98, Skippy Natural super chunk peanut butter for $2.49, 3 bell peppers for $.99 each, Ocean Spray diet blueberry pomegranate juice for $1.99, 2 big bag of Quaker popped in apple cinnamon and caramel corn for $1.99 a bag, and 6lb bananas for $3.98. We'll be going to Safeway today to pick up some more meat and then we're done with grocery shopping for awhile. I try to buy enough stuff to last 2 weeks so I load up on fruits and veggies and freeze our bread products and take them out as needed. I also got Red Baron pepperoni pizza 3 count box for $7.00 so I'll be making that for dinner tonight while I have a sandwich, granola bar, and a piece of fruit.

My daughter also has a the beginnings of a cold and both my girls swear by Zicam. It's kinda pricey but it does cut the cold shorter. Good job at the gym and the grocery stores!! I wish I could buy larger amounts of fruits and veggies but it's just me and i wouldn't eat them all in enough time but good that you can! Freezing ahead is such a great idea. Money saver and time saver.

I do that too, freeze the bread products, as well as shopping for 2 weeks at a time. Ive found that I save money that way. At least $50 a week
