Working out with hubby

Friday, April 25, 2014

Hubby started his new job this week, and with that it meant finding a new gym.

Hubby had to leave the posh life - he had mahogany lockers, private shower stalls, carpeted locker floor....he lived large. Not to mention that at 11:30 when he worked out there might have been 3 other people in his gym, and access to a trainer ALL THE TIME at no extra charge.

We found a gym that is close to the house (4 minutes or so), it is bright, clean, however - community shower, no private changing rooms, and it isn't all posh - it is much better than the gym I was going to and it cost the same.

They also have a smoothie bar -

Hubby went from the Bentley to a Toyota.

This week was also school vacation week for my kids - so I was able to go to the gym bright and early with hubby at 5:30 for his weight days - and we ran last night -

I am following along with the program that his trainer put together for him.

WOW - I had been doing some arm work - but tonight I really feel it.

My goal is to move that assisted pull up machine down in weight on a regular basis. I am happy that I only assist half of me now - but someday - I will not need it - maybe if I keep up the program with hubby.

Best news is hubby wasn't sure what to do about breakfast. He has been spoiled, with hot home cooked breakfast every morning (I have created little monsters.) - Answer, I pack him a fiber bar, banana and he gets a protein smoothie at the smoothie bar in the gym. He is able to get whey builder in there - so he is happy - because he wants to define his arms.

Next week he is on his own...but I will continue on the program. Hopefully by the time the weather gets warm enough I will have tank top arms.
