What to do?

Thursday, April 24, 2014

I have a love/hate relationship with food like just about everyone else. My biggest problem though is breakfast. I'm eating it but almost feel pressured to do it.

When I was in the hospital last month I felt obligated to eat breakfast because I didn't want to waste their food. After I got home, I had gotten so use to it that I wanted it. But now..I'm back to feeling pressured to eat it.

Yes, I know it's the most important meal of the day and it's the one that should be eaten. But when I wake up in the mornings I'm just NOT hungry. So they say don't eat if you're not hungry, but make sure you eat breakfast. So what's a person to do in that situation?

I'll have a piece of fruit, a small bowl of cereal or a piece of toast..not all at the same time though. Then I feel bloated like I just had a full meal. Sometimes it's so darn confusing. :(

If you have any great words of wisdom I can use please let me know. I'm teetering on the edge of not eating breakfast again.

HUGS!

No words to encourage you to eat brakfast everyday. I don't usually. If I am very hungry, I will. I go with my body! Blessings and emoticon

i usually am not hungry right away. i get up, work on the computer for a couple of hours, then eat. i need to eat something with protein. if i just ate toast or cereal i would be ill for several hours. i usually have eggs or leftovers from last night's dinner or occasionally a smoothie.

If not eating breakfast doesn't throw you into a food binge, then just don't. Eat when you are ready to eat in the day and that will break your fast. It doesn't have to be morning and of course if it is morning it doesn't have to be breakfast food. Let your body guide you unless it is guiding you down the road to a binge! That is my 2 cents.

I think perhaps something light mid-morning might be good for you, even nothing if that is what your body really prefers. You have to do what YOU are comfortable with.

I eat breakfast every day, but not until I have had a couple of cups of coffee. I was told years ago that I had to eat breakfast if I wanted to lose weight, and since my way hadn't worked so well I tried theirs. I lost the weight so there must be something to it.

Set your calories for the day and budget them to the meals and snacks available. I use a total of 6 .... 3 meals and 3 snacks and then adjust if I go over on one. My total is 1200 a day to lose, 1600 to maintain.

Waiting an hour (if you can) and eating fruit or yogurt should do the trick. It does not have to be much, just healthy. Good luck.

you can have a piece of fruit or a slice toast with peanut butter..... it can be anything you feel comfortable with eating, heck even a granola bar.

I am also not a breakfast person so I just eat a piece of fruit and 3/4 cup of cereal. It does not blot me and I feel full. I am not sure what your answer is because everyone is different and you need to do what is right for you. I hope you have a great day
