Honor yourself as much as your food.
I am learning to leave food on my plate. One meal I was reading outside and decided I was full before finishing the last quarter of orange. As I was putting the peel and remains in compost,I realized that not eating the last couple bites just meant more compost for future oranges. And yes the Orange trees does provide plenty for me to share. So waste not want not does not apply here. Not starving children since that food never his distribution channels.
Now freed of restrictions on food, I am eating a wider variety. Actually more vegetables.
My challenge has been eating too fast. I need a loop repeating chew every bite thoroughly before swallowing, take small bites, Put fork down. Think about how the food is making you feel as well as how it tastes.
I did make progress this week but slow. I do hope that showing down will help me find that point where I am just full enough to last about 4 hours and not over full.
