Quick reassessment

In the last 3 weeks....I have gained 3 solid pounds. (I know, I know - STFU skinny beeootch....but if you read my page, you know where I am coming go read it if you haven't).

And I know exactly why... stress (that brought about an lovely eye twitch).... stress... and oh, um....stress!

That and not taking enough time for myself.

Stretching myself thin over work and family extracurriculars (lacrosse and baseball have strated! yay - and hubby does a lot shuttling the boys around 99% of the time) has left little time for FUN and exercise.

Exercise? What is that? Fitting in the conventional exercise on the treadmill is just not going to work right now... I have to think outside the box.

Moving rocks in a back planter that needed a redo because of a communion in 2 weeks was my first foray into the unconventional exercise routine....and BOY and I sore!!! but it's a good sore emoticon

My next plan in to pre-prep the exercise gear for the baseball field. Kid is at practice = me walking/running the perimeter while the dad's (including my hubby) all stand around and talk football. I can carve out a solid half hour here.

This is my plan...this is a new start... because SOMETHING has got to give.

I miss moving and feeling YOUNG because I CAN rock it if I set my mind to it. I sometimes feel like the girl from the 5Ks 2 years ago disappeared into thin air....I aim to get her back this year.

My spakrfriend OAKBORN and I are planning to meet at the Boston Marathon next year to run the 5K.... I have to get ready for that... better start now!! LOL

    I agree!!! I have been getting ready for my wedding next weekend (May 17th.) You would think that I would be super motivated to look nice for what everyone keeps telling me is "my day."

    Uhm... no. I am stressed and exhausted-- can't wait for it to be over and on to the marriage. From going over budget to trying to please family and friends to realizing I spent $200 on a gorgeous dress, that one of my friends has spent hours and hours altering and redecorating bc she wasn't happy with placement of crystals and roses...

    I just want to take it off after the ceremony bc it doesn't let me move and I want to run around the zoo and dance! (I probably will do that but what a shame to spend the money and time when the dress I'm changing into was $16. LOL)

    I wanted to get whatever bouquets were at the local grocery and wrap the stems in leopard print duct tape, but my friends are making me fake flower bouquets that match my color scheme. (What color scheme? They are flowers and I'm wearing off white! My favorite flowers are dandelions and I may just pick a bunch before the ceremony yet!)

    My stepdaughter wants us all to get together for hair and makeup like in My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I just want to run away for some alone time, to reflect and relax. I can't see all of us (and there are only 4) doing our makeup and hair in our dimly lit tiny bathroom. LOL. Tiny details that really just don't matter so I am trying very hard to let them go and just enjoy. I would like some alone time with my Beloved before the wedding and I don't see it happening. *sigh* Again... remember we have the rest of our lives...

    HUGS and you have some good ideas for fitting in exercise.

    emoticon Hang in their Girlfriend! We are both getting back on that horse... the one that waits ever so patiently over there on the path until we realize he's been waiting for us... sometimes raising an eyebrow at us... but he's still a pretty patient guy!

    emoticon I am so looking forward to next year... We have a plan! We must kill Moose & Squirrel! or at least the Boston Marathon 5K! We can do eet!! It will also be ever so freaking cool to finally meet my buddy from S*P* after ever so many... it will be 7 years, IIRC.

    And don't forget... you have a place to stay should you want to come to the Pac NW, as long as you don't mind a couch in the living room and cats! emoticon

    Yes, Stress is really bad, and is the culprit of many things....especially those you just said. WTF's wrong with me....I've gained 6 pounds since January!

    But yes, Good for You for knowing you've gotta make the exercise a priority, it's the number one best thing to kill Stress!!!!!!

    So you Go Girl! and I've gotta get my butt back in gear, too!

    3lbs in 3 weeks, I was headed the exact direction! 1st week 1lb, second week another... I wasn't liking the trend! Had to reign in the food and leave my stress at the gym!

    Stress really can take its toll on you but hey look! You are making plans and trying to make things work to get you back into a routine which is great!

    Oooooh a 5k in boston, that sounds exciting! And definitely something to motivate you! I wanna do a 5k in June with some friends. I have to get crackin! But its definitely a great way to have you work towards something!

    Hopefully you get a little down time soon for a little "you" time! Take care!

    I remember that you walked the perimeter during kids' sports events. You inspired me to do the same at soccer practices/games!

    That stress can totally affect your body and can cause weight gain. Finding me time will be a big help. You do make me laugh as that is exactly what I remember about dads and practices. The dads love to yak about sports.

    Your plan of walking laps while practice is going on is great. Squeezing exercise in anywhere is so helpful. Your time is filled with a job, family and sports.

    That is exciting to have the Boston Marathon to look forward to. I am glad it was a great race yesterday.
