Body Aches

Thursday, April 17, 2014

Well still no change in my weight grrr. it's so frustrating when you're working out and eating healthy. I make sure to track my foods and exercise and it definitely helps out a lot but I just wish the scale would go down even just a little bit lol.

I'm still really sore from the squats and crunches :( My shoulder blades hurt from where they dig into the floor even with the yoga mat on the floor. Also having back pain which really makes it hard to get anything done. I've been working through it and went on a walk this morning and now it hurts again just from sitting down for half an hour. I'm going to get my workout in asap so I can maybe try some light stretches to help ease the pain.

Tonight is gym night so I'll be doing 30 minutes of cardio and 20-30 minutes of weights. I did an hour long walk already and still need to do 1 minute plank, 100 squats, 200 crunches, and 30 minutes of exercises. I'm getting pooped! I didn't give myself a break last week and so far this week I haven't had a rest day. I'm thinking I may need to go back to allowing 1 day of rest. I feel really tired and sluggish like all of the energy has been zapped out of my body. I also haven't been sleeping well because my boyfriend keeps waking up at the most random times. Hopefully tonight I'll get some decent sleep since we leave for Chico tomorrow.

For dinner tonight I'm making myself a ham and swiss cheese sandwich on a 100% whole wheat sandwich thin along with half of a small avocado and mustard. I'll be having a side of asparagus and a piece of fruit or a granola bar, depends on my calorie expenditure. I haven't tracked any foods yet so that's the next thing I need to do.

I was feeling a bit down yesterday so I cut my nails and toenails and filed them and put lotion on my feet. It helped cheer me up so that's good. Today I'm going to address my annoying "peach fuzz" on my face. For some reason it got a little longer than usual so I will be using the Sally Hansen face hair remover cream. It works pretty good...

Last night's dinner of brown rice and homemade stir fry turned out to be really yummy! I got leeks, bell peppers, and broccoli from Grocery Outlet so I added that to some cauliflower, garlic, and cooked chicken breast that I cut up into small pieces. I weighed out the chicken for myself I allowed myself a 3oz portion with 3/4 cup brown rice and the veggies. I put sweet and sour sauce on everyone else's since it was too many calories and sodium for me. I added a dash of pepper and a dash of salt to mine to season it and it was perfect.

Hello! Thanks for adding me back as a friend :) I agree with others about the rest day, but something else I have discovered that is amazing for sore muscles is foam rollers. Have you tried them? Sparkpeople has a couple instructional videos but I found another link that is good. It may hurt a little at first, but I feel so much better afterwards! Like giving myself a massage :)

You are working out too much. You must give the body at least 24 hours of rest in order to have it keep functioning for you. emoticon

Sorry about the aching. As a matter of fact, my calves are hurting due to my gym exercise this morning. I hate to say it but I also have peach fuzz. Sally Hansen is also my choice for removing it.

Hang in there! It will come! But you may be overdoing the exercise a bit... When you are so exhausted, it's a message from your body. The gym plus the walk, plus the crunches and the squats.... it's a LOT. You do need a rest day, and you might want to talk with a trainer about how much exercise is healthy for YOU. (because I am not a trainer, it just sounds like a lot to me) But your dedication is AWESOME! Just don't burn yourself out! Remember, this is a lifetime commitment.

    Hugs!
