I was walking through the living room Sunday night and Joel Osteen was on the TV. I really don't know why. Hubby was the last to watch TV and never watches the religion channels. Anyway, he said something that caught my attention so I sat down and listened to the rest of his message. "BE CONTENT IN THE SEASON YOU'RE IN". The gist of the message is this. Being angry and discontent waiting for what we want ruins the day we are in. Be thankful and "enjoy the moment". Not complacent. Still plan, pray and work towards your goal. But remember--God is working in the background of your life. Be content when your wants are filled and content while you are waiting. Be the best you can be right where you are. God will get you where you need to be.
I thought "What a great message - for all of us! I sent a text to both my daughters summarizing the message. They both have life changing decisions and other problems they are dealing with . It is hard to stay positive in those type situations. I get down worrying about my kids, husband, grandkids--you name it. So for the past several days, I have tried to keep this message in mind. Hubby is going through the denture process - 12 teeth extracted (in 3 separate sessions) and the "falsies" put in yesterday. He is in huge pain and is pretty down. I am trying to be positive without sounding placating or too "chirpy".
"Be content in the season you are in".
