So I have this awesome friend, Amy, who I work with on the same campus. Staff has free access to the campus fitness center which I have egregiously neglected to take advantage of for the better part of two years. For a while there last year, I was frequently walking on the indoor track. Kicking ass even.

I just started going back and, as I said before, actually started jogging! Weird. Amy is the one who introduced me to the fitness center. She lost 80lbs several years ago, has kept it off and looks fantastic. So she really inspires me with the whole "If she can lose 80 lbs, surely I can lose 40" reasoning.

So lots of Van Halen listening has me inspired to get as shredded as I can so I asked Amy to show me how to use the weight room. I took weight lifting in high school but it's been 18 years so I'm rusty. Yesterday Amy took me around the weight room and gave me instruction on all the machines. She is such an awesome friend. So I feel like I can go in there and get to shredding now. Woo! We've also been walking together outside for about an hour every Tuesday after work. Good therapy and good exercise.

Here goes nothing. Hopefully I'll do well with the weight lifting and it can boost the fat burning. Burning the butter!

Last night I ate a plate full of green beans. I was so damn hungry. Then I had chicken and bell pepper stir fry and tons of white rice. Somehow my calorie intake for the day was way down though?! Lucky me I guess. NOM!!!!
