Mother Nature strikes again

Sunday, April 13, 2014

Yesterday (Saturday) was hazy and in the 70s. I fertilized the lawn and some of my next door neighbor's lawn. (They just moved in from an apartment in December and have no experience with yard work and no tools.) I pruned shrubs and racked up a lot of steps and exercise. LOVED IT!

However, a cold front brought in cooler temps and rain overnight, whch is now turning to snow as the temperature continues to drop. Obviously I can't get out in the yard today, unless I want to turn into a wet, cold mess, so I'm doing lots of laundry and housework. I'd much rather be out preparing my garden beds, but Mother Nature has other ideas. We can always use the moisture on the front range of Colorado, but I hate the way our rapidly shifting weather teases. The coming week is predicted to have more precipitation mid-week and cooler temps, so my gardening will have to wait for Easter weekend. Any decent weather to be outside will pretty much occur while I'm at work. emoticon

I did do 15 minutes of cardio dancing, freaking out my pets, as usual, and now I should put towels in the drier and get the sheets in the washer. Then I need to get at my cooking for the next few days for the Fast Metabolism diet. I may need to run to the store for ingredients and the snow is supposed to get stronger in the afternnon, so I'd better get moving if I expect to get everything done. emoticon

I wish everyone a happy and healthy day!

Maybe you didn't get to do what you'd planned, but I really like that you didn't just use the weather as an excuse to not do anything at all. Sadly, I've been guilty of that any number of times! emoticon

Sooooo proud of you for sticking to the FMD...it is a challenge but soooo worth it! I'm on the P 3 part as you know and loving it. Sooooo much more do~able! I still rely on my crook pot a LOT but have started adapting some of my other favorite recipes so that they work with the FMD plan. All okay and I'll probably be doing this for a long long time. Lost another pound on the challenge last week...MOST marvelous because I was so tied up in knots over the crazy house situation I don't think I exercised more than 30 minutes per day.

Love that your exercise freaks your pets...before long they will get used to their crazy mom's newest antics and join in! emoticon

Bummer on the weather...just when we finally though Mother Nature had remembered that it's LONG past time for spring to well....spring! emoticon

How sweet of you to help your neighbors...they hit the neighbor jackpot! emoticon emoticon

    Fast Metabolism Diet? Please elucidate.

Got out earlier in the week and weeded my daughter's front flower bed that I put pansies in for her birthday. They didn't freeze out..the roses did, and all else, but those stupid 6 for 88 cent pansies! (hey, i wasn't cheap about it, i got her 18 :) ) LOL

We had rain until late afternoon here. Yep, the laundry, including the winter stuff to put away, got done today.

    Have a great week!

(Going to send the new neighbors a bill? :) )...love thy neighbor..they'd want to earn money too...

I did some yard work earlier this week....nothing like bending, pulling, etc. to find some sore muscles the next day. How do you like the FMD? One of my Spark friends has lost over 20 pounds and says all she does is cook and eat lol.

Sounds like typical bipolar Colorado weather! emoticon I remember wanting to plant veggies but would have to wait until almost June before putting them outside. Good luck with your gardening and preparing your meals for the week for the FMD. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon You'll need plenty of veggies. emoticon
