My DH had a bad accident yesterday on the Kubota tracker. It turned over with him on it. He tried to jump out of the way but a part of it came down and smacked him on the left side of his face. He has a fractured orbital bone (eye socket) and we see a surgeon next week to see about getting a plate inserted to support his eye. The swelling needs to go down first. We went to our local ER at 2 in the afternoon, after 5 hours he was transported by ambulance to Callahan Eye Foundation at UAB.
We got home after midnight so we are trying to chill out! The good news is:
1. I stayed on my eating plan, grabbed an apple and banana on the way to the hospital. Then friends brought me a salad from Burger King. I picked off half of the bleu cheese and really enjoyed it. (And lost 1 pound this week)!
2. God is faithful and answered prayers. John is not in a great deal of pain. I'm praying for a good report when we see the surgeon. I'm praying he will say John doesn't need the surgery, that everything is healing well. But, if God's will is to use doctors and surgery for healing we are ok with that too! We are blessed to be near such a great facility and have top-notch doctors available.
