Not surprised

that I gained a pound at Weight Watchers last night. I missed last week's weigh in while on Spring Break and my eating was out of control. On a positive note, I was very active, which probably accounts for only a pound gain (I even earned my little activity charm from Weight Watchers last night).

DH, DD#1, DD#3 and friend and I (DD#2 was on a trip with a friend) left for Florida last Wednesday morning and drove straight to DH's niece's house to visit with her and her 14 month old twins (boy & girl). We had stopped for a late Cracker Barrel breakfast and it was already past lunch time when we got to her house.

We stayed there a couple of hours and then went to a nearby State Park to kayak on the river. We kayaked and swam for a couple of hours. It was a beautiful place with clear springs (Central Florida is full of springs). It was a little different than kayaking the North Georgia rivers because you have to paddle back up stream! It was harder than it looked because the current was pretty strong. After kayaking, we went swimming in the "headstream". The water was so clear and cold! It stays 72 degrees year round, which I'm sure feels great when it's 85+ degrees, but it was probably only in the high 70's, so it was pretty chilly!

We went back to the niece's house and picked her and the twins up for dinner (her husband works nights so he wasn't able to go). We ate at a great seafood restaurant right on the river. It was a lot of fun, but like at Cracker Barrel earlier, my food choices were not great (but hey, I missed lunch!).

We were going to go back and visit with niece, twins and her husband Thursday morning, but both twins ended up with a stomach virus and they had to take the little boy to the doctor. We ended up going to a wildlife park and then rented a pontoon boat and went snorkeling at the bay that was near our hotel. Again, it was a day full of activity. We had a great breakfast at the hotel, packed a picnic lunch for the boat, but then I had more fried seafood for dinner!

We left early Friday morning (after another yummy breakfast at the hotel - love Hampton Inn's breakfast!) and drove straight to an amusement park in south Georgia. We spent Friday & Saturday there, so it was a lot of walking and climbing (stairs at the water park on Saturday), so again I got plenty of activity. Of course my eating was out of whack - can you say more fried food and pizza at night!

We got home late Saturday night and I'm not even sure what I ate on Sunday, except donuts were involved! I did go on a pretty long walk with DD#2 and puppy (who really missed us even though my niece and great nephew spoiled her).

I was really glad to get back to routine on Monday. It started pouring Sunday night and rained all day Monday (we had major flooding), so I didn't get any activity on Monday (puppy didn't even want to go out Monday morning for potty!).

DH has started back running (already back to 3.1) because he and DD#2 are running a 5K on 4/26, so I went with him to the park on Tuesday evening. I took the puppy and the dog, so even though I didn't run, it was quite a workout keeping up with them. The old dog has a pretty good pace and the puppy would like nothing better than to run!

Yesterday after our Weight Watchers meeting, my sister and I headed back to the trail we hiked after the last meeting. We only did a part of the trail then because we weren't sure how long the 3.8 miles would take us. We decided last night to do the whole thing. It was an absolutely gorgeous trail that wove through the woods by the lake (we live near a huge lake) up some hills, through a couple of parks, back down some hills, by the river and back up some stairs to the parking lot. It was a pretty strenuous hike and took us over an hour. I figured we did about a 20 min. mile which wasn't too bad considering some of the trail was pretty difficult. In fact, I'm a little sore today and my knees hurt a little from the hills!

So even if I don't reach my 6 Week goal of 5 lbs. by the 4/23 weigh in (4.8 lbs. in 2 weeks) or the "Back to Goal by Mother's Day" goal at the 5/14 weigh in (9.6 lbs. in 5 weeks), I'm still happy with my progress even though I've only lost 5.2 lbs. in 13 weeks, and I still have 9+ lbs. to get to goal -- it's better than gaining an additional 5.2 lbs.!

I'm not going to stress too much about reaching these goals, they're certainly doable, but I have enough to stress about the next couple of months: Easter party, getting DD#1 through her Senior Year, DD#2's confirmation and insane sports schedule and that doesn't include the insane month of May at school for all 3!

I'll just keep trying to eat healthy, stay active, try not to stress eat, and keep going to Weight Watchers. Right now the weekly weigh ins and meetings are keeping me accountable!
