I gave up there for a while

Wednesday, April 09, 2014

So needless to say it has been a very long time since I have been on here. I sort of let my life and pain take over my whole existence. For the last few years, but mostly the last year I have been dealing with debilitating pain. I have had so many scans and blood tests and lumbar punctures and my doctors still cannot figure out what is going on with me. I had been put on prednisone over the holidays to help with the inflammation, needless to say I gained a lot of weight. After the first month it stopped helping reduce the pain and I kept gaining weight. My first week on it I gained 10 pounds. I ballooned back up to 296 and have struggled for the last two months to take off any of the weight I had gained. I have managed to lose 5lbs of it but it has been like pulling teeth just to get that!

Sorry if I'm rambling there is so much that has happened in the last year. Finally last week my husband and I decided to go check out the new gym that opened less than a mile from our apartment. Although it is not an expense we can truly afford right now because my husband is unemployed, we decided to go ahead and sign up because we HAVE to change things. If for no other reason than my health, it does not seem to get any better with just medication. Although, it hurts to move most of the time I have decided that I can't let the pain rule my life anymore. I am missing out on so much and I just realized I have not seen my best friend in over a year because of it.
Hopefully the next blog I write will be a lot more positive and I will be making progress!

There may be some low impact classes that you can take at the gym. Don't give up, you can do it!
