And so another week begins

Monday, April 07, 2014

This weekend was crazy busy starting with my girls night out. Turns out DD and DS just finished their movie and the power went out!

DD was at a sleepover and they were in the power outage region so they also had no power, but it did not seem to phase them!

I was in an area where there was power and only got home at 11:30 pm! No sense in rushing home to a dark and cold house! ;-)

Anyway the maki sushi rolls went down well!

I made some for DD for her lunch on Friday with only carrot and cucumber...she has asked for some for her birthday lunch at school tomorrow, so I guess I will be making more tomorrow! emoticon

I need to practice trying to make the rolls a little daintier! Mine are big and chunky - i like them like that and for a beginner sushi maker, I will take a while to get the hang of smaller rolls.

Anyway Sat was busy, DD had a mens breakfast, then when he got home DS and I went to support a bake sale in support of funds that go to pet rescues in the community.

Here is what DS bought ( he only bought one and I got one for his sister!) - so cute:

He paid for his with his own money! I am trying to teach him the concept of supporting good causes and giving back to the community! It wasn't hard for him to give when he was getting one of these cute minion cupcakes! LOL

Then I did errands and did housework and cleaned until dinner time. Got groceries and then was in need of a night off! DH and I wanted to go watch DIVERGENT but our babysitter was not available.

So we watched a movie at home.
Sunday morning we slept in, much needed. ( If you can call sleeping till 8:30 am sleeping in! LOL)
Then I got busy doing laundry, house work and then DH took the kids for a walk so that I could get some work done!

The Lake is still frozen and there is still piles of snow everywhere. It was 7 C and it was a sunny day!

After completing one deadline we took the kids out for dinner to celebrate with DD for her birthday! Since her birthday is on a school day we celebrated the dinner out way on Sunday night then came home and had family movie night, we watched "Rio"...DD's choice!

And that was the weekend gone!~

This morning started with a writer's group meeting and then I started working on my next deadline!

Broccoli soup for lunch!

Tonight is another lot of running around, Taking DD to piano lessons, cleaning ( my cleaning job) and grocery shopping!

Tomorrow we are having the cousins over in the afternoon to share birthday cake with DD so I have to tidy up a little more and make Sushi for DD's lunch ( as requested)

I am trying so hard not to ADD events to my calendar. Unfortunately I have things that I just have to do for my project I am working on and that means doing an interview on Thursday.

I have 2 more interviews to do before they are all done ( that will be 10 in total) and then it is a matter of getting the bio's all done by end APRIL! Hopefully I will be getting a cheque for all the work sometime soon. It has been an enjoyable project so far!

I think I am going to be ready for my bed tonight, that is for sure!
We will be up early to celebrate with DD before she goes to school I am sure!
