Third Year of Maintenance?!

I rarely go online over the weekend, just a quick look at e-mails to make sure I'm not missing anything for my girls' schedules. I was surprised with all the Spark messages congratulating me on my 3rd Year of Maintenance - thank you by the way!

Once I again I feel a little like a "fraud". I am currently 9 lbs. over goal (hopefully not more after this past weekend - but that's a blog for another time!) and was 14 lbs. over goal in mid-January.

My first year of maintenance went pretty smoothly and when that first anniversary rolled around on 3/31/12, I was only a couple of pounds over (still suffering from my holiday "hang over"!). Things got a little "hairy" at the end of 2012 and at the beginning of 2013, I found myself 10 lbs. over goal! I got back on track, worked really hard and was back at goal by May!

However, at my 2nd Maintenance Anniversary, I was still about 6 lbs. over goal and felt a little like a "fraud" then.

I know I'm not a "fraud", I struggle with maintaining and sometimes steer a little off track, but I'm committed to this healthy lifestyle.

Yeah I had a donut (or 2+) yesterday, but I also had 5+ servings of freggies, drank plenty of water and took a 45+ min. walk (climbing up and down hills and playing in the river!) and on Saturday I went to the park with DD#1 & 2 and puppy and took a long walk even though it had been raining and it started to pour on us and we had to run back to the car!

I know if I look back at my blogs and weight history (which I often do), the main reason for the upward climb in weight (besides the holidays) is stress eating from my busy schedule, not planning and not tracking.

However, since this is my lifestyle, it's not as hard to get back on track. I did feel the need to go back to Weight Watchers in January to get off the 14 lbs., but I like the accountability and motivation at the weekly weigh ins and meetings.

And yes, once again the weekends got the best of me, and my eating was way off track, but I dusted myself off and fixed my healthy breakfast and packed my healthy lunch.

Like I mentioned before, I'll be going out of town on Wednesday, but we'll be doing lots of active things and I know how to make good choices when I'm traveling (know how, but often don't!).

So once again, thank you for the comments and accolades. I work hard at it and I am a maintainer - so Happy 3rd Anniversary to Me!

    Believe me, I sure know how you feel. I just celebrated two years of maintenance and am 10 lbs over my goal. It's difficult not to focus on what we think we still need to do, but after being surprised by the well wishes, I decided to celebrate my improved healthy habits and the fact that I've kept a significant amount of weight off for two years.
