Thursday, 3/27 Matthew's birthday/ Preparations
Friday, March 28, 2014
I have had such a busy--a pleasantly busy--spring break. Everyday has had something that needed doing, but it didn't seem to matter because it was with the right people and it was all things I wanted to do. Today, after we went grocery shopping and I got my swimming in, Megan and I went to pick Matthew up from his work meeting and we spent about 4 hours helping him to straighten up his apartment. He still hasn't emptied boxes or moved entirely in to this apartment, so we had quite a bit to do. The apartment people also had just worked on plumbing, so he had a mess from that as well. We got started with his kitchen--he hadn't really organized anything, so we had our work cut out for us. (I was sure this was how it was, but I hadn't had a chance to go check it out for sure.) Megan and I had an ulterior motive, we were checking out ideas for birthday gifts that he really needs. His birthday was yesterday, but we are having his party on Saturday so all of the kids who work at such a variety of times can come. We also got the answer to our questions about gifts, so it was a win/win day.
After that, Megan and I went shopping and got Matthew some new sheets, a shower curtain, some new "tupperware" containers, some command strips, and of course, his favorite Cadbury Creme Eggs. We still need to go get him some curtains/drapes--but I may have to make them because his windows are such an odd size and shape. Megan is going to check a few places out tomorrow while we are at University Hopsital--and if she doesn't find any, I will go buy some fabric and sew some up that fit those windows and will be nice to look at from the inside. (I need more to do...)
I am getting done with my afghan--and hope to find myself there (or close to there) after the driving tomorrow. That will give me the weekend to prepare myself for returning to work. We have a couple of special events at church on Sunday, so along with squeezing in my swimming, I will not have a lot of time to think about work until I get back on Monday morning. I come back to outside duty--thank heavens they are predicting 60 degree weather.
I will share what I find out when I see the surgeon tomorrow. I feel like I've been holding my breath and waiting my entire break for this. It is that important... Have a great Friday everyone!!
