We had a wonderful mini vacation in Maine over the weekend. We went up to watch our nephew play in the Division III Frozen Four tournament. They lost the first game on Friday, and were eliminated, but the team that beat them, went on to become the national champions, St Norberts of Wisconsin. We watched 3 games, and all of them were pretty good games.
I came down with a cold on Wednesday, so it was a bit of a struggle to travel, and to enjoy our mini vacation. but we managed. We went to the beach, which I joked with my hubby, telling him that when I said I wanted to go to the beach in March, I meant a beach where I could wear a bathing suit, not a winter coat, we rode the ferry to one of the islands, visited the LL Bean flagship store, went to the casino, did a lot of walking and laughing.
We came home yesterday, and I was concerned that the kitty wouldn't make it through the weekend, and I was right. We found her in the living room, stretched out in one of her favorite spots. She was a good kitty, and will be missed. We decided last year when we lost our dog that we wouldn't be getting any more pets. It's too hard to lose them. Our daughter suggested we get a turtle, as they live for a long time LOL!
My little DGD isn't coming over today, her parents have covered her for the day, with mommy and her bf keeping her this morning while daddy works, then daddy is taking a half day to be with her this afternoon. She was sick over the weekend and they don't want her to catch what I have, so it's going to be a relaxing day for me.
I am the only one who can do this for myself.
I make the choice of what I put in my mouth.
I make the choice to exercise daily.
I make the choice to have a positive frame of mind.
I make the choice to be healthy!
Goals for today:
~ read my mantra
~ 80 oz water
~ 17,000 steps (9506 yesterday) - pretty good considering we were in the car for 9 hours yesterday!
~ 25 flights of stairs (12 flights yesterday)
~ keep an open mind
~ journal every bite
~ smile at least once an hour
~ learn something new and remember what I learned
~ eat a fruit or vegetable with every meal and as one snack today
~ laugh out loud today
~ focus on this lifestyle I have chosen for myself and don't sweat the small stuff
