South Beach Diet -- Day 14 -- END OF PHASE ONE!

For the first time, I have made it to the end of Phase One! I've had a few temptations here and there (did not give in to a single one of them!) but overall it has not been bad at all. I had headaches on Days 2 and 3, but they went away. My energy level has been much improved, as well as my mentality. I'm feeling wonderful and very proud of myself. This is also Day 14 for Husband. I'm so excited that we made it!

Here's today's rundown:


Day 14


Breakfast: three strips of turkey bacon, one cup of coffee with Truvia and sugar-free French vanilla creamer.

Lunch: two portobello pizzas (sauce, cheese, green peppers, green olives, sliced mushrooms, and turkey pepperoni on top of an upside-down portobello mushroom), Orange La Croix.

Dinner: Cobb salad (mixed lettuces, cuke, celery, hard-boiled egg, ham, blue cheese dressing). Grapefruit La Croix.

Dessert: Sugar-free grape popsicle.

Activity: 76 minutes of mixed activity (jogging, walking, circuit training, steps, etc).


Well, that's all she wrote for today. I still can't get over it. I actually accomplished a goal. I made it. I did Phase One, and I've been exercising diligently for several days now, even though I haven't been feeling well. I have been paying more attention to my appearance, too. I'm wearing a little more makeup, spending more time on my hair, trying to wear nicer outfits, keeping my eyebrows tweezed and legs shaved, etc. I'm really doing this. I'm so proud of myself! I just want to keep it up. That's what I need to keep remembering: KEEP IT UP.

Tomorrow, instead of going on to Phase 2, I start "Phase 1.5." Husband is going to do Phase 1.5 as well, but a bit closer to Phase 2. He's just not as sugar/carb-sensitive as I am. I'm just planning to add things like carrots and some fruit here and there, and occasionally have some healthy grains. I'm will continue to stay away from baked goods, pastas, bread, processed foods, alcohol (*sigh*), etc. I really like this "whole foods" approach to eating. This is definitely something I can do forever. And I will. I will do this forever.

I'm going to weigh-in tomorrow morning, so know how much I lost during Phase One. I'll be sure to post about my Day One of Phase 1.5 and weigh-in tomorrow night.
